iTunes Connect: App Store price adjustments May 2017

2017-05-01 09:15:07 UTC

Apple has sent an email to developers and our customers informing them of upcoming changes to app pricing which will affect prices in Visiolink apps. These changes will take effect on May 3rd 2017:

When taxes or foreign exchange rates change, we sometimes need to update prices on the App Store.

Due to foreign exchange rate changes, prices for apps and in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) will increase in Denmark, Mexico, and all territories that use Euro currency in the next 7 days. Auto-renewable subscription prices will not be affected. You can change the price of your subscription at any time in iTunes Connect with the option to preserve prices for existing subscribers. For details on price preservation, see Offering Subscriptions (https://developer.apple.com/app-store/subscriptions/#price-preservation) .

On May 1, 2017, a value added tax (VAT) rate of 5% will go into effect for customers in Taiwan buying apps and in-app purchases. We will administer the collection of taxes from customers and the remittance of taxes to the appropriate tax authority in Taiwan. Your proceeds will be reduced accordingly, and will be calculated based on the tax exclusive price.

Once these changes go into effect, the Rights and Pricing section of My Apps (https://www.apple.com/itunes/go/itunesconnect/manageApps) will be updated and you will also be able to download the updated price tier charts (https://itunespartner.apple.com/assets/downloads/Apps_PricingSchedule_April2017.pdf) .

If you have any questions, contact us (http://www.apple.com/itunes/go/itunesconnect/contactus) .

Best regards,
The App Store Team

Changes will be made to the Pricing matrix to accommodate changing tax and currency exchange rates which means that prices will increase on in app purchase. If you wish to change to a different price tier, you can do so in iTunes Connect.

Important: do not delete any active in app products without consulting Visiolink Customer Care.

If you wish to stay on the same price tier and accept the adjustment from Apple, you may need to change the description on your help page or information page in your iOS app.

Readers with auto-renewable in-app subscriptions will be notified automatically if the price of auto-renewable subscription has increased. The reader will receive the notification when their renewal date approaches. When the subscriptions expire, the subscription must be renewed manually by the reader at the increased price.

Please note: if you wish to change the price on Android to match the new price in your iOS app, you can do so in Google Play. However, Visiolink will need to update the price in our database as well, so please let us know if you wish to make adjustments in Google Play.
