GA4 Disclaimer

Google Analytics has from the European Union Data Protection Authorities been deemed non GDPR compliant, due to the data transfer to the United States. As there is currently no data privacy agreement between EU and US, Google Analytics will continue to be non-GDPR compliant. However, the European Commission and the United States announced on 25 March 2022, that they have agreed in principle on a new Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework. This agreement has been approved by the US and if the agreement is approved by the European commission, Google Analytics will again be GDPR compliant.

In case this new Trans-Atlantic Privacy Framework unexpectedly is not approved by the European Commission, Visiolink will stop all GA4 upgrades and look into alternative tracking solutions. Therefore, we hereby want to inform our customers that all GA4 upgrades will include this uncertainty and the potential risk of ending up in a situation, where alternative tracking will be needed in order to be GDPR compliant. Visiolink will not be able to carry this risk and the potential cost associated to it.
